Details About Dhoni
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 7 July 1981. He was born in Hindu Rajput family. His parents moved to Ranchi from Uttarakhand. His father name is Pan Singh and mother name is Devki Devi. He has one brother and on sister. Mahendra is youngest of three sibling in his family. His sister name is Jayanti Gupta and his brother name is Narendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni’s father Pan Singh worked in junior management positions in MECON. He is a fan of Adam Gilchrist, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Lata Mangeshkar.
He completed his school in at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi. During the schooling time he mostly played badminton and football. He was also selected at district and club level in football and badminton. He was a goalkeeper for his school football team. His football coach was sent to play cricket for a local cricket club. He had not played cricket any time but he impressed with his wicket-keeping skills and became the regular wicketkeeper at the Commando cricket club from the year 1995 to 1998. After his good performance he was selected for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-16 Championship in 1997-98 season. He performed well in this championship. Finally MS focused on cricket after his 10th Standard.
After completed his schooling, he joined the St.Xavier college for higher education but he could not complete his graduation because of some personal reason. When Dhoni was in 12th Standard, only school cricket and club cricket. He played only schools and colleges’ tournament well and became a local star. In the year of 1998 Mahendra was selected by Deval Sahay to play for the Central Coal Fields Limited (CCL) team. This was the first step of professional cricket for Dhoni. Deval Sahay impressed by Dhoni’s performance and used his contacts in Bihar Cricket Association to push for Dhoni’s selection in the Bihar team.
Dhoni selected for senior Bihar Ranji Team for the 1999–2000 season at that time he was just eighteen-year-old. He played in in the second innings against Assam cricket team and made a half century in his debut match, scored 68* runs. Dhoni also played for Jharkhand’s Ranji cricket team. Dhoni was part of the East Zone squad that won the Deodhar Trophy 2003–2004 season. Dhoni was picked over international cricketer Deep Dasgupta to represent East Zone. It was then that Dhoni stepped into the limelight. Dhoni was scouted by BCCI’s small-town talent-spotting initiative Talent Resource Development Wing and discovered by Talent Resource Development Officer Prakash Poddar, who show Dhoni in Jamshedpur in 2003. Dhoni was selected for the India A Team for a tour of Kenya and Zimbabwe.

During this tour he performed well in both, batting and wicket-keeping. He played against Pakistan A team, Zimbabwe and Kenya team. Against the Zimbabwe team he picked up 7 catches and 4 stumpping in wicket-kepping. He also played triangle series with Kenya and Pakistan A team. He made one half century and two century 120 runs and 119* runs respectively. During this tour he scored 362 runs in 6 innings with average of 72.40. Dhoni’s performance in this series received attention from the Indian Cricket team Caption Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri.
Finally Mahendra Singh Dhoni debuted in Indian Cricket Team in the year 2004 for Bangladesh Tour. He played first match against Bangladesh in Chittagong. Dhoni did not have a great start to his One Day International career, In the first match he run out for a duck. Dhoni was also selected for Pakistan ODI series. In the second match of this series, he made his first century and scored 148 runs in only 123 balls against Pakistan in Visakhapatnam. After this match Mahendra Singh Dhoni was famoused. Later in 2005 against Sri Lanka, Dhoni was promoted to no.3 in the third match of series at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). Sri Lanka Gave target 299 to India and Dhoni scored 183 runs in only 145 balls. India won the match because of Dhoni batting. This the record in cricket histery, one wicket-keeper scored 183 runs.
In the year 2007, Dhoni became the caption of India Cricket Team and same year Indian Team won the title of First T20 world cup in South Africa. Under the captionship of M.S.Dhoni India Team won ODI world cup in the year 2011 after 28 year. Dhoni scored 91 run in the final match of world cup against Sri Lanka in Wankhede Stadium. Asia cup two time in the year 2010 and 2016, ICC Champion Trophy in the year 2013. In cricket history, he is only one caption, who won all ICC trophies. Under his captaincy, India became the first team to whitewash Australia in a Test series in the year 2013. Indian team also reached in semifinal in 2015 world cup under his captaincy. In the Indian Premier League, he captioned the Chennai Super Kings team and won title three times in the year 2010, 2011 and 2018.
In personal life, he married with Sakshi Singh Rawat on 4th July 2010 and couple blassed with baby girl. His daughter name is Ziva. In bollywood, Director Neeraj Pandey made one biographical sports film based on the real life of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Late Sushant Singh Rajput played a superb role of Dhoni in this movie. By this movie we all know about Dhoni’s first Girlfriend Priyanka Jha, But unfortunately she died in a truck accident on Velentine Day. In the year 2001 to 2003, Dhoni worked as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) at Kharagpur railway station.
Dhoni played 90 Test match, 350 ODI match and 98 T20 match in his cricket carrier. In 90 test match, he scored 4876 run with 6 century and 33 half century with 38.09 batting average. In test match his top score is 224 run. In 350 ODI match, he scored 10773 runs with 10 century and 73 half century with 50.53 batting average. In ODI his best score is 183 run. In T20, he scored 1617 runs with two half century with 37.60 batting average. In T20 his best score is 56 run. In wicket-Keeping, he take 256 catches and do stumpings 38 times in test Formet. He take 321 catches and do stumpings 123 times in One Day International Formet and he take 57 catches and do stumpings 34 times in T20 formet.
