Ambani lived only briefly in Yemen because his father Dhirubhai decided to move back to India in 1958. Because he want start a trading business that focused on spices and textiles.

After his Father Dhirubhai Ambani’s death in 2002, Mukesh Ambani and his brother Anil Ambani assumed joint leadership of the Reliance companies.
Because of feuds between brothers over control prompted, Kokilaben Ambani, to split Reliance’s assets using a noncompetition agreement (2006–10). Under which Mukesh assumed control of the gas, oil, and petrochemicals units as RIL under the umbrella of the Reliance Group.
He has been credited with creating the globe’s largest start-up petroleum refinery as well as spearheading the creation of several state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that vastly increased RIL’s production capabilities.

At the date 8th march 1985, Mukesh Ambani married with Nita Ambani and they have two sons Anant and Akash, and a daughter Isha. They met after his father attended a dance performance which Nita took part in and thought of the idea of arranging a marriage between the two.
They live in Antilia, a private 27-storey building in Mumbai, which was valued at US $1 billion and was the most expensive private residence in the world at the time it was built. The building requires a staff of 600 for maintenance, and it includes three helipads, a 160-car garage, private movie theater, swimming pool, and fitness center.

Mukesh Ambani also owns this floating palace on high seas. The yacht features a retracting solar glass roof and it is 58 meters long and 38 meters wide.
