Paresh Rawal is famous as a Indian film actor,comedian and politician. He is well known for his roles as a villain as well as a comedian in more than 100 movies and won some awards for his extraordinary contribution to the Indian film industry. He became a Member of Lok Sabha from Ahmedabad in 2014 with the ticket of Bharatiya Janata Party. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in the films Woh Chokri and sir in the year 1994. Paresh Rawal speaks language like Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu and English.

Then after, he decided to enter into the bollywood and made his acting debut with the movie ‘Holi‘ in the year 1984. Then in the year 1985, he performed as a supporting actor in the movie ‘Arjun’.In the year 1986,he came into limelight with the blockbuster movie ‘Naam’.

He collected his first Filmfare Award for Best Comedian. That was followed by Ketan Mehta’s Sardar. He played the lead role of freedom fighter Vallabhbhai Patel, a role that got him national and international acclaim. He has received wide recognition for his villain roles in Telugu box office.

He was born in Mumbai and belongs to a reputed Nagar Brahmin gujarati Family. He completed his school from ‘maharastra ssc board’ and graduation from the ‘narsee monjee college of commerce and Economics’(Mumbai) in March 1974.

He is married to an actress and Miss India contestant (1979) Swaroop Sampat. After his study in 1974, Paresh rawal started doing Gujarati Theaters and acted in the Gujarati plays like ‘Dear Father’ which won a lot of praise from the audience.

In the year 1980s and 1990s, he come to light as the main villain in the movies like ‘Kabzaa,’ ‘King Uncle,’ ‘Ram Lakhan,’ ‘Daud,’ ‘Baazi’, ‘Roop ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ and many others. He played a double role in the movie ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ with the co-starring Aamir Khan.

In the year 2000, he became a superstar after the release of the movie ‘Hera Pheri’ in which he performed as a kind-hearted and mindless Marathi landlord Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. His proper unexpected comedy talent and comic dramatic flow of the story, this movie became superhit at the box office. He also won the ‘Filmfare Best Comedian Award’ for this film. After this legendary,many directors began to appoint him as a lead actor or main supporter in their movies.

Apart from Bollywood, Paresh also worked in Tollywood and established an exceptional position especially in a villain role in the Telugu movies. In 1984, he made his debut on the small screen with the serial ‘Bante Bighadte‘ aired on Doordarshan. Apart from an actor, Paresh is also a talented producer who produced the hit daily serials like ‘Teen Bahuraaniyaan’airs on Zee TV, ‘Main Aisi Kyunn Hoon’broadcasts on Sahara One and ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’ telecasted on Colors channel.

In ‘Sanju‘ the biopic of Sanjay Dutt, he is playing the role of Sanjay’s father Sunil Dutt. In 2014, he became the Member of Parliament (MP) from Ahmedabad East zone. In the same year, he was honoured with the ‘Padma Shri’ award for his great contributions to the film industry.

In 2012, he produced his first movie ‘Oh My God,‘which gained a lot of acclamation from the audience. His second production venture is a biopic of ‘Narendra Modi.
